Heather grew up in Alexandria, VA, and...

...obtained her BS from VA Tech University. She worked in Philadelphia, PA and Washington, D.C. in the hotel industry, with a brief stint in the IT field in a sales/recruiting role. After several unsuccessful requests to be relocated to Southern CA, she took matters into her own hands and packed up a truck and drove cross-country to satisfy her desire for sand, ocean and mountains, landing her in San Diego, which is now where she calls her home of 17 years. She worked for The Governance Institute for 9+ years and then went on to become part of the iProtean team.

She and her husband are physically active and together they have two bicycle shops to help satisfy their love for sport and entrepreneurship.

Heather has 3 children (2 boys and a girl) and they are the light of her life. When she’s not busy chasing them and/or watching them excel in school and sports, she is also very active in volunteering her time at their school. Prior to having children, she was a team leader with Volunteer San Diego (now Hands on San Diego) and also with Philadelphia Cares. Community and volunteer involvement has, and always will be, near to her heart. Heather believes that it’s what you give back and how your actions make others feel vs having “stuff”.

When she and her family have the time, they love to travel and explore the world around them. Seeing this country, and when the kids are old enough, eventually other countries. Experiencing those lands as a local is a top priority. She also loves to cook, primarily because she’s always thinking about her next meal, and she really enjoys sharing her food with others.
